Yoga therapy is not about teaching you poses. It's about assessing your condition, and to provide you with a yoga practice that will evolve with you and your lifestyle. Most people coming to yoga therapy have not practiced much yoga, if any at all. They are looking to become empowered to take an active role in their self care, in a sustainable manner.
If you are brand new, it is wise to start with a package of three sessions: During our first session we discuss your concerns, lifestyle, health history, and set your goals. Based on the information gathered, I will design a practice specifically for you (your "homework") that will be sent by email in a printable pdf format. The practice takes into account your lifestyle and generally doesn't exceed 10 minutes. This initial session can last between 60 to 75 minutes. It is very important to follow up within two weeks from the first session to make any adjustments necessary.
During the follow up sessions we discuss the evolution of your symptoms, make changes or progress the practice. You learn to become responsible for your own well-being, and As a yoga therapist, I am here to support you in your self-care journey for the long term.
