Jaye’s Kundalini yoga classes combine a dynamic blend of asana, breath work, meditation and deep relaxation.
The practice of Kundalini yoga balances the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, and enables us to harness the energy of the mind and the emotions. This enables us to be in control of ourselves, rather than being controlled by our thoughts and feelings.
“Kundalini” is the flow of energy and consciousness that exists within each of us and enables us to merge with or “yoke” the universal Self. Kundalini yoga is based on kriyas, or specially formulated sets of exercises. This allows you to target specific areas and work on exactly those aspects of yourself that need focus at the current time.
Kundalini yoga is for everyone who wants the skills to cope successfully with the challenges of living in this age.
What to expect in class:
• we tune in with mantra (One Namo Guru Dev Namo) - I bow to the teacher within myself
• pranayam - breath exercises
• kriya - a set of exercises with a specific outcome, e.g. to awaken the 10 bodies
• deep relaxation with the gong
• meditation.
