There is now an impressive pool of research that points to the therapeutic benefits of meditation, including improved immunity, pain management, stress reduction and mental wellbeing.
Participants on this course are guided and supported in the process of developing a sustainable personal meditation practice.
This course will appeal to health professionals who would like to add mindfulness meditation to their repertoire of skills, stressed out executives, parents, caregivers and anyone who feels the pressure of every-day life.
This course is suited to complete newcomers to meditation and mindfulness but is also a wonderful training for those more experienced meditators wanting to deepen their practice. This is an experiential-based course with plenty of grounded theory to back up the life-changing practice of meditation.
This course will cover:
• the benefits of mindfulness meditation for healing, personal development and spirituality
• an understanding of the strengths and limitations of the thinking mind and the causes of excessive thinking
• a review of the stress response, the relaxation response and their impact on health and healing
• guidelines for practising meditation using intention, gratitude and loving-kindness
• the application of mindfulness to emotions like grief, anxiety and depression.
This is a day-long course.
