Merryn is an experienced sports physiotherapist and performance coach who believes in pushing boundaries for others and opening their eyes to their body’s potential. She has a wealth of knowledge from over 15 years of treating clients who are all performing at the top of their fields, from Olympic medalists to senior executives and CEOs. Merryn opened her own clinic in 2017 and now uses this knowledge to help the general population be fit, eat well, prioritise sleep and support recovery after injury. Specialising in working with C-suite executives and corporate clients, Merryn uses her knowledge of working with elite athletes and high performance individuals to support her clients to get their health right and keep fit for work. Coming from a sporting family, Merryn was heavily involved with sport and competitions throughout her childhood. Merryn has been a state and national 200/400m track and field athlete, which initiated her desire to work in sport. With a passion for health and fitness and a desire to work with elite athletes, a career in physiotherapy was a natural progression for her after high school. Merryn graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2004. She then spent time in Norway where she completed a Research Masters Degree for injury prevention in adolescent female European handball players. More recently, Merryn completed her Masters in Sports Physiotherapy, allowing her to become a Titled Sports Physiotherapist. She is also trained in dry needling, muscle energy techniques and as a connect therapist. Merryn started working at the New South Wales Institute of Sport and then became a physio for Athletics Australia, traveling the world providing high level physiotherapy at events including the 2014 Commonwealth Games (Glasgow), 2014 World Relay Championships (Bahamas), 2013 World Championships (Moscow) and 2012 World Indoor Championships (Sopot). Merryn loves to work in high performance sport where people live out their goals and dreams on a daily basis. Using the foundations of science and anatomy, Merryn has overcome her own physical and psychological obstacles to strive for a peak level of health and performance in brain and body. Over the years, and particularly after the birth of her daughter, Merryn has also learnt more about the importance of balance, connecting the mind and body, being present and slowing down. Based in Lavender Bay (North Sydney), Merryn works with her clients to help tackle physical obstacles and open their mindset to new health and performance potentials. She is a regular speaker at corporate events focused on restoring balance in body and brain as a perfect reset for health and performance. Merryn also co-facilitates her Un Earth Program with a fellow professional coach and nutritionist through individual programs, a series of workshops and a three day retreat to unwind, unlock and unleash the body and mind. Merryn looks forward to working with you to take your body to the next level. Read more
