Kerryn is a Satyananda yoga teacher who offers an integrative, holistic approach to finding balance and a more relaxed state of being within the “busyness” of life. Through movement, breath awareness and relaxation, her clients find strength, stability and grounding for both body and mind. Kerryn aims to help her students gain a deeper understanding of themselves through their yoga practice. She believes we pick up certain patterns of behaviour that don’t always serve us well and can hold us back from developing our full potential. She is a slow and considered teacher, who always offers staged practices during her small and nurturing classes to cater for the different levels of experience in the room. Kerryn likes her students to step into the space feeling completely comfortable and not feeling forced into anything they do not want to do. Her aim is to get people moving their bodies in a gentle and nurturing way, developing tools for creating balance and stillness within their lives. She loves seeing the positive change in people from the time they enter the class to leaving at the end. Kerryn also offers yoga Nidra sessions - a guided deep relaxation practice stemming from the Satyananda style of yoga. These classes have helped some of her clients overcome insomnia and lessen the effects of anxiety and stress in daily life. Kerryn had worked in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years when in 2009, she suffered a setback with a health crisis that required surgery. After spending many months recovering, then feeling weak with muscle wastage, Kerryn was prompted to try yoga for the first time. It was a life-changing experience. She practiced every day at home for six months, then decided to study yoga to become a teacher. Kerryn offers her classes at a number of towns on the east coast of Tasmania, bringing her unique style of yoga teaching to the communities she cherishes. Striving to lead by example, Kerryn embraces the yogic lifestyle, by being kind, helping others, not judging and looking out for others. Read more
