She loves sharing the thousands of years of yogic wisdom through slower-paced and gentle yoga. With a passion for teaching yoga for wellbeing as a social enterprise, Kate has strong connections with the North Queensland Indigenous community and is a regular yoga teacher at local Indigenous community services including women’s shelters, primary schools and medical centres. Kate also teaches weekly group classes at her local Hindu community hall and private yoga classes for teenagers and adults. Kate’s background is in international aid and community development. She has lived in China and Japan and has qualifications in Asian economic development, Japanese and community development. Through focusing on the mind, philosophy and psychology in her studies in oriental therapy, Kate intellectually loved it, but physically she needed more. Kate found herself drawn to breathwork, meditation and yoga through her volunteer work with the Art of Living. In 2016, she travelled to India to complete her 200 hour yoga teacher training through Sri Sri Yoga School in Bangalore and began teaching their courses through the Art of Living. After becoming a mother, Kate has since completed a further 300 hours of Sri Sri yoga training and set up her community yoga practice. Kate has also been trained in marma therapy (an Ayurvedic energy healing practice) since 2016 and she looks forward to incorporating this into her offerings when she finalises the full qualification. Through her own spiritual journey, Kate knows that all of her combined experiences have come together for a reason and she loves providing beneficial and uplifting yoga experiences for everyone that joins her on the mat. Kate welcomes you to join her. Read more
