Anne is a yoga teacher and life coach, whose practice is informed by studies in counselling and coaching, mindfulness, and a career in the corporate world (strategy and project management in banking, government and health sectors). Her focus and style is to encourage students and clients to become present to their own unique experience of their body and mind, and to access their wisdom from that place. Internationally trained in the styles of Vinyasa, Yin and restorative yoga, Anne adapts her yoga classes depending on the unique needs of her students. In recent years, Anne has been teaching yoga to teenagers, including at-risk youth. Her students report feeling grounded, calm and more connected with themselves following a class. Anne scaled back her corporate career after losing two family members to illness, to focus on the healing pursuits of yoga teaching and talk therapies. She has been teaching yoga since 2014, and life coaching clients since 2017. Anne loves seeing the impact of yoga and coaching on her clients through their deepening self-awareness. With yoga, this may occur through bodily insights; and with coaching, through the verbal reflections of their lived experiences. She feels rewarded by the opportunity to witness the inner wisdom that surfaces for people when they do the hard work of developing their self-awareness, whether it be in a yoga class or in a coaching session. The impact of this self-awareness, she says, is also a greater appreciation of others. This has the ultimate result of improving relationships and connection with community. While the work begins with the self, the impact of doing so is often far broader. Read more
