George is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner and a naturopath with more than three decades of experience, who aims to make his clients self-sufficient in managing their health. George believes we all have the capacity to improve our wellness and develop ourselves so that we can be our best. Achieving this becomes possible when we become aware that we have choices that direct our actions towards being the best version of ourselves, being true to ourselves and living harmoniously within our environment. On first meeting a client, George asks questions that enable him to assess their priority health issues, whilst also listening to what they really feel they need. By listening and asking questions, George can help them identify patterns that have brought them to that point of dis-ease, and then suggest choices that empowers them to create change. He actively brings to their awareness the prerequisites the body and mind needs to build resilience, with the long-term aim of self-empowerment. George has a particular interest on pain – whether it is physical, emotional, or visceral pain, his treatments skilfully combine TCM principles and practices, including Chinese herbal prescriptions, diet therapy, acupuncture and cupping; and naturopathic advice including western herbal prescriptions and food intake and nutritional recommendations. He strongly recommends the practice of earthing to each and every client because it is, like controlled abdominal breathing, the foundational prerequisite for living and ongoing wellness. The transformation that occurs in his clients is with their ability to self regulate emotions when faced with different stressors. This enables them to better navigate their experiences. Physical pain, for example, becomes a distracter to living and effectively dealing with events or situational stressors. George’s aim is to modify pain transmission by working physically, for example, using acupuncture, cupping and massage, whilst creating awareness and helping people to break the patterns of behaviour to free them from a negative pain cycle. For George, seeing the transformation in people is priceless. He passionately supports enabling clients to act humanely towards themselves. George’s expertise with Chinese diet therapy and western clinical nutrition were recognised by RMIT University in Melbourne where he was the co-ordinator and lecturer for the subject Chinese Dietary and Exercise Therapy for its undergraduate program in Chinese Medicine from 2004 until 2010. He also has experience in clinical research, having completed a pilot study on the role of acupuncture in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) as part of his Masters degree at RMIT University. George looks forward to meeting and working with you. Read more
