Jo is a fully qualified Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner, acupuncturist, shiatsu therapist and Japanese yoga instructor with more than three decades of experience in the health and wellbeing industry. Passionate about bodywork and oriental therapies, Jo aims to empower her clients so they can know more about themselves, equipping them with the tools to be able to recognise the changes they require to improve their health. In both TCM and yoga, her focus is on transformation - she likes to educate her clients, making them aware of the nuances in their world impacting them. Jo has an extensive history of treating people for a wide range of health issues at her TCM clinic but she has a particular focus on children and teenagers, women in mid life, sports injury rehabilitation and musculoskeletal issues. She has a passion for helping people realise their potential and to achieve better control over their health and wellbeing, especially those who have been marginalised or overlooked by traditional western approaches, by empowering them through alternative methods and strategies. Jo trained with some of Australia’s first Japanese yoga teachers and her yoga classes are seasonally based, with a focus on the traditional five elements. She closely supports and guides her students through their yoga sessions, resulting in them feeling a sense of spaciousness and freedom in their joints – and in their minds – so they feel cared for through their yoga journey. Jo loves seeing people step into their greater selves as they find their own spark and regain joy in their life, feeling as if they can walk away and create the next part of their journey, embracing their bigger selves. Jo has worked on shiatsu standards for national industry bodies and associations; and she regularly runs extensive mentoring courses on seasonal living, based on TCM principles. Based in Sorrento, on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Jo looks forward to working with you. Read more
