Holding a firm belief in the power of yoga to heal through its mindful way of relating with our bodies, Eve has completed a teacher training in Qi Yoga, a dynamic combination of Chi Gong and Hatha Yoga. Her classes are energetic and timely, themed with the universal energy connecting to earth acknowledging the traditional custodians of this beautiful land. As a proud Wiradjuri woman, Eve believes that deep healing is possible through connecting people back to their culture and back onto country. Connecting with culture on country with elders through ceremony, art, dance and bush medicine has helped her in many ways, and now she is passionate about sharing this with others. Eve believes if one person is suffering, then we all are. If our land, water or sky is sick then we all are. She wants to heal and be healed through culture and connection and often integrates Indigenous culture into her classes. A big part of Aboriginal culture is ceremony and Eve believes the space created in a yoga studio is also a form of ceremony. “Dadirri” means deep listening and contemplation, which is essentially what happens in a yoga space and Eve uses this poignant time to bring in the sacredness of her own spirituality. Eve discovered spirituality, peace and stillness after completing her first Vipassana Meditation course at the age of 17. As an international dancer for much of her earlier career, she found yoga was the best tool for recovery, as well as strength and balance. She works regularly with teenagers online at the CSIRO, teaching yoga and guided meditation. Eve delivered cultural programs as a Senior Educator for Wandana Events and Education certified by NESA, the NSW Education Standard Authority. She developed a three-hour cultural awareness program for yogis and is working to create a 25-hour stand alone course. Read more
