Tilby is a biodynamic craniosacral therapist and occupational therapist who blends her dual skill sets with the aim of connecting the brain and the body. She takes a ‘bottom-up’ approach to her therapy to support nervous system function, which includes creating safety in relationships, primitive reflex integration, nervous system regulation, and building awareness skills such as interoception, emotional awareness and body awareness. Tilby is also a trauma-educated therapist who strives to empower her clients to facilitate experiencing safety in their body, in their relationships and in their environments. She has developed skills to support trauma-integration and build nervous system resiliency. Tilby works with women through online support to explore self-regulation, nervous system resilience and finding safety within your body. Tilby specialises in occupational therapy for children, providing tools for parents to support children in their daily lives. Her treatment centres on self-regulation, body awareness, sensory processing, relationships and social connection, neuro- development and integration of primitive reflexes. Children who have a good mind body connection can better regulate emotions, engage in learning and be socially connected. Tilby takes a whole family approach, getting the family to come along with her on the journey which helps give them a sense of empowerment. Her craniosacral therapy facilitates the body’s inherent, built-in healing system to encourage the body’s full expression. It works directly with the nervous system to support regulation and balance between the brain and body, via the central nervous system. After graduating as an occupational therapist in 2015 and working in the field for several years, Tilby continued to search for confirmation of the mind-body connection. She went looking for more information to understand the nervous system and how the brain and body are connected, and the influence of this connection on our health, wellbeing, thoughts and experiences in life. Working to address her own unresolved emotional experiences in her early life and undergoing bodywork, Tilby was eventually led to studying biodynamic craniosacral therapy. Tilby says her own experiences with sensory processing help her to relate to the children and teenagers she works with, and to appreciate a wider understanding of how they might be experiencing their world. She uses a strengths-based approach to support and encourage clients to recognise their strengths, leading to building self-confidence, their sense of self and support their wellbeing and enjoyment of life. Tilby feels humbled and privileged to work with people and support their healing journey to realise their innate potential. Read more
