Cherie is a clinical psychologist with a deep appreciation and respect for nature and the transpersonal. She always seeks to provide a safe... Cherie is a clinical psychologist with a deep appreciation and respect for nature and the transpersonal. She helps clients gain insight into their inner nature and support them in their journey of growing as a human being. As a clinical psychologist Cherie has a thorough understanding of human development, personality structure and specific issues of mental health, along with extensive experience and understanding in the treatment of psychological distress. She always seeks to provide a safe therapeutic container that fosters awareness, curiosity, and growth. Cherie draws upon a range of evidence-based techniques and interventions such as mindfulness and compassion-based cognitive-behavioural therapy; acceptance and commitment therapy and interpersonal therapy, positive psychology, psychodynamic psychotherapy, internal family systems, attachment-based therapy, gestalt therapy and depth psychology. Cherie has a particular interest in working with: • Issues of trauma • Nature connection • Life transitions • Substance use & addiction • Relationships and social challenges • Old patterns and destructive habits Cherie also lectures in counselling and psychotherapy, with a focus on bringing myth and ritual into healing pathways. She is a trained ‘Vision Quest Protector’ and work as part of a team offering four-day solo nature quests for people wishing to connect more deeply with themselves and the natural world. Other areas of training and interest also include yoga, dynamic movement therapy, Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. Private sessions with Cherie are held either online (video or phone available – where you can be walking or sitting in nature during your session), or in-person in Brunswick Heads, Northern NSW.
