Catriona is a senior yoga teacher, wellness space curator, birth doula and meditation teacher. She believes that yoga is for everyone of all ages, shapes and sizes and that the essence and benefits of yoga can be accessed and felt by all. Although continually training and expanding her learning with teachers from India and around the globe, Catriona always comes back to the roots of classical Hatha yoga. She believes that yoga is for everyone of all ages, shapes and sizes and that the essence and benefits of yoga can be accessed and felt by all. Although continually training and expanding her learning with teachers from India and around the globe, Catriona always comes back to the roots of classical Hatha yoga. Catriona has been teaching yoga since 2005 after becoming a hatha yoga teacher with the Saraswati Academy in India. With a corporate background in IT, Catriona made the move to full-time teaching in 2007. She has gone on to train with mentors such as Michael De Manicour, Sal Flynn, Clive Sheridan and Mark Whitwell. She has also undertaken specialist training in ‘yoga for 12 step program recovery and relapse prevention’, is a qualified prenatal yoga teacher and birth doula, and more recently has been teaching yoga to cancer patients. She is also a qualified mindfulness and meditation teacher. The study of yoga, meditation and enquiries of the mind body connection is an ongoing passion of hers. She is currently working towards her two year Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy with ‘The Yoga Institute’. Catriona also curated a wellness area of a large music festival for four years running, which drew up to 15,000 people and was a huge success. It included everything wellness from yoga to sound healing, ecstatic dance, drumming, cultural activities and the healing arts. Catriona booked international teachers and musicians from around the world to be part of this multi-stage event. As well as working with her own private yoga clients, Catriona works therapeutically in drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres. Catriona says: “Practising yoga and becoming a doula have been truly life changing practices for me and I’m passionate about sharing my ongoing experience and knowledge with others”.
