Carmen is a clinical hypnotherapist and art therapy student who loves being able to provide a space of calmness, awareness and clarity for her clients. Throughout her studies and by working with her clients, she has used hypnotherapy for a range of conditions including anxiety, stress and trauma within the body. Carmen completed her Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Strategic Psychotherapy at the Institute of Applied Psychology in 2019 as well as completing training in Sensorimotor Guided Drawing (focussed on healing trauma). She is currently undertaking her Diploma of Art Therapy which she is due to complete in early 2021. Upon completion of her studies, she will combine hypnotherapy with the playfulness of art therapy into a blended service offering and toolbox for her clients. Carmen says herself that she “is not an artist and draws like a toddler” and encourages everyone to try art therapy, regardless of how creative (or not) they feel that they are. She believes that anyone can draw and paint, and her sessions will be less focussed on the vision but more about how it connects to what is going on within. She is fascinated by the ability of art therapy to access subconscious thoughts and to provide psychological relief without using words. Carmen plans to support her clients through observing their choice of colours and structures to provide insight into their thoughts and feelings. Born in Austria, Carmen travelled to Australia as a 17 year old and always dreamed of returning. Since 2008, she has called Australia home. As an empath, she has always had a special connection with people and a strong desire to nourish and support them. Along with Julie Clark, Carmen also co-facilitates ‘yoga meets art therapy’ workshops where they encourage participants to move, play, laugh and explore. Carmen is based in Forster on the scenic NSW North Coast, has two beautiful children and speaks three languages (German, Dutch and English). She works with clients across the Central Coast between Forster and Bateau Bay. She invites you to discover yourself in a playful way and looks forward to working with you. Read more
