Carmella is a yoga teacher and a Grammy-nominated singer with more than 35 years experience in professional performance, voice coaching, the dramatic arts, martial arts, meditation and mindfulness. Integrating her extensive history of music and movement into her yoga, meditation and voice teaching, Carmella focuses on getting her clients to connect to breath and body, working with them to release blockages. Carmella’s sessions focus on healing and transformation, on creating space for freedom of self-expression, improving communication skills, finding colour and power in the outer voice and connecting to the inner, deeper voice. Her voice in yoga classes allow participants to become calm, clear and centred under all conditions, with focused and less cluttered minds; while her yoga and meditation sessions help to calm the mind and find deeper concentration. Her “voice, movement, meditation” workshops, which aim to free the natural, spontaneous, colourful and powerful voice, help people to release their own issues and reconnect with their inner voice. Carmella aims to inspire every individual to reach their full potential and says her clients often emerge feeling triumphant by the end of a voice session. When she first established her own yoga studio, Carmella was in the midst of a deep depression and creating a connection with her students and sense of community helped her overcome it. She says she still gains as much as out of teaching as her students get from it and finds it a constant learning journey. As a singer, Carmella has learned to work with performance anxiety under many challenging circumstances. The integration of mindfulness and meditation has consistently enabled her to conquer stage-fright, anxiety and lack of confidence. Her album Song to The Earth, released in 1995, made the Top 20 across the country and was acclaimed by many in the industry. She has performed as a support act for numerous artists, including as Eartha Kitt, Darryl Braithwaite and Jenny Morris. Carmella has facilitated hundreds of seminars, concerts, trainings, and workshops throughout Australia, NZ, South East Asia, Ireland, China and the USA. Read more
