Why did you choose to be a Therapist or a Healer or a practitioner.

What inspired me to become a therapist or healer isn't related to the sophisticated
diplomas on the wall, the networking, or a curiosity for other people’s lives. It’s something far
more personal.

I always go back to the little girl who still resides inside me—the one I’ve taken
to places she never imagined existed. She's an only child from a little island in the caribbean, that often alone, found companionship in her immediate family—her grandparents, mother, aunt, and the dogs that
filled their home over the years. Her world was shaped by long days in the backyard, under
the shade of mango and guava trees, and by the stories of the adults around her—especially
her best friend, her aunt.
She had lived so much, but with those experiences came a price for her physical and mental
health, something that slowly consumed her until the day she decided to take her last breath.
At 17, I lost my aunt. That loss changed me, but more than that, it revealed something I had already
sensed my whole life—the invisible struggles people carry, the silent battles that eat them
alive while the world moves on, unaware.

Being exposed to grief at such a pivotal age led me through an ocean of emotions and
intrusive thoughts that often got the better of me, making them difficult to subdue. Yet, this
life lesson helped me truly understand the superpowers that empathy and vulnerability
possess. My inner child continues to help me heal every day, and through this shift in
mentality, I realized why connecting with others came so naturally to me—why I could hold
space for their grief and pain and accompany them through life’s hardships thanks to those
superpowers and my dedication to knowledge. Being able to do this now without the confines of
four office walls, but across different parts of the world, truly fulfills the inner healer in me, and yet again reassures me the very wise inner child in me always knew this is what I she was meant to do.

Thank you for reading a little piece of me and I look forward to read and connect with your story too!✨
